About This Series
This painting series explores the anti-ideal. What makes something interesting is not its perfection—but its imperfection. Machines are perfect, sterile, unfeeling, unchallenged. Machines create perfect number sequences, they create perfect circles and straight lines. Humans, on the other hand, cry at sad movies. Humans eat too much and drink too much. Humans make mistakes. Humans need shrinks. Humans have moments of weakness followed by great moments of strength.
There is beauty in imperfection—thighs that are too big, a nose that is crooked, moments of despair, learning from mistakes, being confused and directionless, confidently smiling through it all. This is the essence of being human. The essence of the struggle to be great.
